Stitch-Tober Days 1 to 4

I am participating in this really cute project called Stitch-Tober where you do a cross stitch each day in October. This is actually my first time doing cross stitch ever. So I will be alternating patterns and finished projects.

October 1st I designed this cute little pumpkin:

And

October 2nd I finished my first crochet stitch :)

October 3rd I designed two versions of the same cat:

October 4th I picked the cat design on the left and placed him behind the pumpkin I had stitched previously:

I am so excited to learn cross stitch! So far it has been a fun and wonderful experience :D I've wanted to try it for years and this finally gave me the inspiration and reason.

Crochet Challenge!! Day 24: Favorite Stitch

Usually I make things like toys and object, so I don't use a particular stitch very often. I did find a stitch that I liked during this challenge, which is the Corner to Corner stitch. It can be used it to make stripes or pictures which is what I have been enjoying. I used this stitch to make the Halloween wall hang and am planning another using the same method.

Here is the chart for a pumpkin wall hang that I'm planning. Its very easy to make charts like these in paint and its on every computer for free which is a plus.

I was playing with the stitch this weekend and made this little block.

You can find the challenge on usscrafty's blog:

My Halloween :D Belated

I love Halloween it is my favorite holiday! This year was exspecially awesome, because I got to watch Alfredo experience some things for the first time. One such first is pumpkin carving, he had never done it before and we spent all of September waiting until an appropriate time to buy one.

It was so fun explaining to him how to cut the top of the pumpkin off and then watching his face the first time he smelled and felt raw pumpkin. The first thing he said was "This doesn't smell like pumpkin! This smells nothing like the candles", because he so used to the pumpkin spice that smells nothing like real pumpkin.

Here are the results:

Alfredo with homer Ghost

Monica and Alfredo 4ever

Ghost Homer

Ghost Pokemon

Then after a fun weekend of pumpkin carving. We came back to the dorm and decorated :) We had purchased a bag of spider webs at target, for a dollar, so those of course went everywhere.

                                                                            My desk

                      My book shelves

                                                                                                  The terrerium!

Then of course I went Trick or Treat. I know that I'm to old to go by myself so we took Alfredo's cousins out and had so much fun :) look at all the candy I got! Alfredo dressed as fairy and I was the Marauders map from Harry Potter. His little cousins were a witch and a cat, so cute.
