Experimenting With a Swirl Border Idea

I started in each corner with a different color, really low with 3 single crochets, then 3 half double crochets, then 3 double crochets, and then lastly 3 triple crochets.

Then  3 more triple crochets to make it to the corner. I did that for each color and then continued with the first again. (This is where you on going to start crocheting on the tops of the other colors)

I then *ch1, tr1, ch1, tr1, ch1, tr1, ch1, tr1* in the same stitch as the triple crochet in the corner. This should get you around the corner of the Granny Square or blanket. I did this for each of the colors and then went back to the first.

The rest was just triple crocheting until I got to the part you had done the chains before and then doing the triple and chain pattern again until you reached the regular triple crochets on the other side.

When I got each color to wrap around the times around that I wanted and had then gotten around the last turning set of ch and triples, I did 6 triple crochets, 3 double crochets, 3 half double crochets, and 3 single crochets. I then (after taking the picture below) fastened off with a slip stitch.

:) increase the number of the singles, half doubles, doubles and triples in the beginning, if the thing you're bordering is bigger and you want the angle for the color rising to be smooth from corner to corner.

Have fun with it and see what you can do. Post again soon :)

New Yarn Bombing

This is the newest yarn bomb that I have done =) I made a black band to fit tightly around the pole and then a blue rectangle. I then pressed the middle of the blue rectangle together and secured it with a long chain with two rows of single crochets on each side. Then I sewed the bow to the band using blue yarn.

Magan's Wedding Blanket

I'm started making my sister Magan a weeding gift before her wedding. It's a blanket with her and her now husband's name and the date of there wedding. This is what it looked like a little while ago.

This is what the chart that I designed looked like

This is what I have finished so far, as of this morning. Unfortunately I ran out of grey yarn this week, but I'm very excited to get back to it, so it should be done soon. =)
