Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge! Holly

The third day of the 12 Days of Christmas is Holly. This was definitely the easiest pattern so far and took about 15 minutes.

The pattern is quick, cute, and simple. The berries are so small and cute and assembly was the hardest part. The pattern came from Lion Brand's website again.

Tomorrow's item is is a Christmas Tree and that looks exciting and I'm looking forward to it.

4/12 Complete =) Post again soon

Day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge! Candy Cane

Day 3 for the 12 days of Christmas Challenge was a candy cane :) I'd been looking forward to making this for a couple days and whipped it up during my lunch. Which means it took about 20 mins.

It's about 4.5 inches tall and I thought the way the stripes are done gives it a neat look.

Tomorrow's item is holly and the pattern comes from the same site as before. 3/12 complete :) post again soon

Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge! Present

The 2nd day of the 12 Days of Christmas Crochet Challenge was a Present. The finished project was bigger than I had expected, at about 3" wide and 4" tall. It was a cute little pattern and used mostly beginner stitches and techniques. I got this pattern from the same place as the wreath, Lion Brand's Website. I think I may try a keep with the classic Christmas colors for most of the challenge.

Tomorrow's item is the Candy Cane and comes from the same site as the previous patterns. I have been super excited to make the candy cane so I hope it goes well.

Day 1 of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge! Wreath

The first day of Christmas is a tiny wreath motif :) sparkely green yarn tied with a red bow. I got the pattern from Lion Brand's Website ---> here

This took about 20 mins to make and that includes the time it took me to crochet the bow twice to get it just right :)

I think it's pretty cute for such a quick and small item :) 1/12 complete!

Tomorrow's item will be a Christmas Present and the patten is from the same set as the wreath

Post again soon!

The first day's item is a Wreath and the pattern I will be using is from Lion Brand's Website. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/L32338.html

Please follow along if you would like =) I chose very simple patterns that should take around 30 minutes a day to complete maximum.

Crochet Challenge!! Day 17: Last Gift Made

The last gifts I made, other than the case for Alfredo, were Christmas gifts. The one that I think came out pretty well is a Hello Kitty bag for Alfredo's little cousin. =) She is a big fan of Hello Kitty and the character is such a simple shape that she lends herself to crochet. I just crocheted all the flat pieces and then sewed them together. The front and back were beveled rectangles and the ears were rounded triangles. The bow was a long thin piece loop together and sewn with a small piece to cover the seam. The face is all sewn on from the inside. The nose is multiple loops of yellow yarn.

The cousin I made this for is actually currently learning to crochet and I'm so proud of her =)

If you would like to join the challenge you can find it on usscrafty's blog:

Decorating My Dorm Door for Christmas

So I started decorating in early December. I just didn't get to post about it until now =) studying for finals and all. So the first thing I tried was to make a yarn Christmas tree. I planned after it dried to cut it in half so that I would have two that have flat backs so I could put one on either side of my door.

Turned out that using newspaper was a bad idea. took forever to detach it and I couldn't get all of it =) but this could easily be fixed with a little glitter. Would make it look purposeful and sparkly, because the newspaper would a perfect spot for glitter to stick.
 Supplies:

This little snowman is the one I made. It is just printer paper. The nose is a piece of a orange box, the face is sharpie, and the buttons are pennies. the scarf is actually crocheted =) its two squares, the bottom one has the top corners attached and tassels attached to bottom.

This is Cristina's =) This is also printer paper and she used cut outs from magazines to make all the features

We change the steering wheel's cover to match the Winter theme and because we did not have a red and green we used and shades of blue. You simply start anywhere and just wrap over the end and then continue around. I then used tinsel string to tie tiny Christmas balls to it.

These is the finished trees. I cut them in half and then glued the backs to green construction paper. They didn't really fit in with the rest of our decorations. So our friends, who also happen to be our next door neighbors, let us put them next do there door. They said they would decorate them sometime soon, but finals have slowed that down a bit =)

You can see in these pictures the newspaper that I could not get off. I later looked it up and found out the styrofoam works better, but newspaper is free =)

So that's all for now =) See ya soon. Post after finals, they've been crazy. Btw all of these supplies were things I had on hand, so all the projects were totally free =)
